Does The Anti Snoring Mouthpiece Work?

There are many different types of stop snoring devices on the market that you can buy and the anti snoring mouthpiece is one of them.  The question is, should you buy it?

Ever since I started this blog I have tested several of the most popular anti snoring devices.  What I found is that most of them do work to one extent or another but most of them have glaring problems that are hard to overcome.

I have tested the snoring pillow (which was too firm for me and didn’t keep my head in the position it was supposed to), the nasal strips (which didn’t work for me at all), the chin strap (which was sort of effective but was terribly uncomfortable), and a few more.

The one product I did find that worked MUCH better than the rest was SnoreZip.  This was the best anti snoring device that I’ve tried (and also that my blog readers have tried).  To read more about this click here:  Stop Snoring Spray

My Experience With The Anti Snoring Mouthpiece

I bought a popular snoring aid mouthpiece online.  When it arrived it was neatly packaged and came with some solid instructions on how to fit it in your mouth.  I had to boil water and then drop the mouthpiece in.  Then after a few seconds I pulled it out of the boiling water, dropped it in cold water, then immediately pulled it out and put it into my mouth.

Then you have to suck hard to pull all the water out and bite down so that the soft plastic molds to your teeth. This is the process that is necessary to fit the mouthpiece to your mouth.  It wasn’t very difficult and only took a few moments.

Testing It Out At Night

The anit snoring mouthpiece is supposed to work by keeping your lower jaw forward and raising your soft palate so that your throat and mouth tissues don’t block your airway.

So, did it work?

Sad to say it didn’t really work for me.  My wife said the sound of me breathing through the mouthpiece was kind of creepy and almost worse than my snoring.  Also, the mouthpiece kept falling out of my mouth and when it did I would just start snoring again.

I returned the mouthpiece and got my money back.

So maybe I just picked a dud.  There are hundreds of different mouthpieces out there.  But if I had to do it all over again, knowing what I know now, I would not order another anti snoring mouthpiece.
